Rishi Kapoor is receiving massive backlash for saying that India must and have to declare an emergency. In the light of Coronavirus, India is under the lockdown period of 21 days, now 19 days. The government of India has advised its citizens to practice social distancing and keep washing your hands frequently. Soon after the Prime Minister Of India Narendra Modi announced the lockdown, Police are patrolling the roads and asking citizens the reason to venture out.

Now taking to Twitter, Rishi Kapoor writes that India has to declare emergency as ‘people beating Police’ will not help combat COVID-19. He wrote, “Dear fellow Indians. We must and have to declare EMERGENCY. Look at what’s happening all over the country! If the TV is to believed, people are beating policemen and medical staff! There is no other way to contain the situation. It is only good for all of us. Panic is setting in.” Seems like, the veteran actor didn’t know what had he signed for? 

Commenting on his post, users shared some videos of Police beating a common man. The comment read, “People are beating police?? Have you tried to step out to buy essential items? Sir I don't want to link to you all the reports about people getting beaten by police, but do read this or see this” 

While another said, “Police is to enforce law and order as per IPC while upholding constitutional values...  Doing danda giri is becoming entertainment during lockdown for few men in uniform. It is not duty, it's abusing power entrusted by the state to maintain law and order..and here Ex Uniformed person" A user also wrote, “How about Police Beating Migrants Walking 2 Home Town 4m #Delhi to Far-off Places in #UP #Rajasthan etc., Is #Bollywood Helping Them?"
